Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SteamSift website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. About SteamSift

SteamSift is an independent game discovery service that helps users browse, search, and save information about games available on the Steam platform. SteamSift is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation. Steam and the Steam logo are trademarks of Valve Corporation.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you may use the Service only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf.

3. Accounts and Sessions

You may use many features of the Service without creating an account. The Service may assign an anonymous session identifier stored in a cookie on your device. Features such as bookmarks, Discover likes, and certain preferences may be tied to that session. If you clear cookies or use a different browser or device, anonymous session data may no longer be available.

Optionally, you may create a SteamSift account with a unique username and password. If you create an account, you are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity under your account. You may optionally provide a recovery email address for password reset; if provided, we may ask you to verify that you control the address. When you sign up, bookmarks and likes associated with your anonymous browser session may be copied to your account. When you sign in, we may ask whether to merge anonymous session library data with your account library; after that choice, your account library is authoritative for signed-in use.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe are used for abuse, fraud, automation/bots, credential sharing that harms the Service, or other violations of these Terms. You may delete your account from account settings (subject to password confirmation) or by contacting us. Suspension or deletion does not affect your ability to browse the Service anonymously, except where we separately block abusive sessions or IP addresses.

4. Permitted Use

You may use the Service for personal, non-commercial browsing and game discovery. You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable law
  • Scrape, crawl, harvest, or systematically download data from the Service or its APIs without written permission
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, its servers, or related systems
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or other users' access
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access the Service in a manner that imposes an unreasonable load
  • Misrepresent your affiliation with SteamSift or Valve Corporation

5. Game Information and Third-Party Content

Game titles, descriptions, images, prices, review scores, tags, and related metadata displayed on SteamSift are sourced from publicly available Steam store information and third-party data providers. This information may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. SteamSift does not guarantee the accuracy, availability, or completeness of any game information.

SteamSift applies content filters and does not display adult, pornographic, or other sexually explicit games on the Service. Titles that SteamSift determines (in its sole discretion) to fall within those categories are excluded from browse, search, and related discovery features. Exclusion from SteamSift does not mean a title is unavailable on Steam or elsewhere; SteamSift is not a complete catalog of the Steam store. SteamSift may update its filtering criteria at any time without prior notice.

Game content, including text, images, and trademarks, belongs to the respective rights holders. SteamSift displays such content for informational and discovery purposes.

6. Links to Steam and Other Sites

The Service contains links to the Steam store and other third-party websites. SteamSift does not control and is not responsible for third-party sites, their content, privacy practices, or terms of use. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk and subject to their terms.

7. Affiliate and Monetization

Some outbound links to the Steam store may include affiliate or tracking parameters. If you purchase a game through such a link, SteamSift may receive a commission or other compensation at no additional cost to you. The Service may also display sponsored image advertisements hosted by SteamSift. Sponsored or paid placements, where used, will be identified as such.

8. Intellectual Property

The SteamSift name, logo, site design, and original content are owned by SteamSift or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. STEAMSIFT DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEAMSIFT AND ITS OPERATORS, AFFILIATES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS (USD $100) OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SteamSift and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

12. Changes to the Service and Terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Terms were last revised. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to the Service or other users. You may stop using the Service at any time.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

15. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any right or provision does not constitute a waiver. These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and SteamSift regarding the Service.
