Emojix is a cozy logic puzzle game. You place emoji characters on a board, and each character is a piece with its own shape. Fill every cell of the board and make sure every character is happy with where it stands.
Each character has conditions about where it stands and who it stands next to:
Every piece shows its conditions, and you can check which ones are met at any time. A puzzle is solved when the board is full and every condition is met.
The campaign has 100 levels in ten places, from the Meadow to the Night City. Each place adds a new rule and has its own music. The first levels take a minute. Later ones mix several rules and take real thinking.
Characters send hearts when they stand next to a friend and get angry next to a rival. When all of a character's conditions are met, it gets a check mark. Click a piece to hear a note, or click it quickly eight times to play a full octave. Every object on the board does something when you click it: a light bulb turns off the lights, ice freezes the board, a slot machine spins. If you leave the board alone for a while, a cat may come and sleep next to it.
Each of the 100 levels has a hidden secret that fits its emoji. Some are in the interface, others happen after a certain move. In level 40 unicorns gallop across a rainbow. In level 94 a ghost flies past a mirror that shows no reflection. In level 100 the slot machines hit the jackpot. Levels where you found the secret are marked with ✨.
When you solve a puzzle, you take a photo of it with a camera. You can shake the Polaroid to make it develop faster. Sometimes one of the characters from the main menu jumps into the shot. There are four of them to catch.
All your photos go into an album. It has a page for each place, a calendar for Daily puzzles, a film strip for Endless mode, and a page for rare photos. You can put any photo on the cover, save it to your Steam screenshots, or start a level right from the album.
Both modes are open from the start.
There is no timer, no move limit, and no lives. You can undo moves and restart a level at any time.
