About

In CLI: Colony Line Interface, you will attempt to manage a space station using nothing but a command line.

Below you lies a dead Earth. Nothing remains, only signals waiting to be heard. Your station is humanity's last outpost capable of survival. Will you find other survivors? Or the resources needed to keep going?

Streams of data await analysis: every system, every colonist, every breath of the station passes through your terminal. No one will act for you. You delegate, interpret, decide.

Key Features:

  • The Crew: Assign tasks to colonists and leverage their aptitudes. They learn and improve, but they also age; their time is limited, and their skills die with them. Each colonist possesses unique traits, which can be a powerful asset or a dangerous drawback.
  • Life Support Systems: The station's module system is a living, interconnected machine. Electrolysis splits water to produce oxygen, but water is precious and finite. You need it for drinking and for the greenhouse, and the recycling system can't recover it all. CO₂ is the silent poison: filters trap it, but they saturate over time and must be maintained before the air becomes unbreathable. Every choice made on one system directly impacts another.
  • Production: Cultivate the greenhouse to harvest crops and convert them into rations, or synthesize the proteins needed to keep your colonists in good physical condition. The workshop is vital for crafting the materials required for maintenance and for expanding the station with new modules.
  • Signals & Missions: Outfit a shuttle and send a crew down to the planet, following signals intercepted onboard the station. Will you retrieve precious water for your reserves, or rescue surviving colonists?
  • Power: A central power generator fuels the station, its modules, and its machinery. Total power output is limited, choose carefully where to allocate it.
  • Integrity & Operating Regimes: Monitor the wear and tear of every system. Machines and modules degrade over time. You can push a module beyond its normal operating regime, but wear will accelerate significantly.
