About the Software

I am the developer of ECHO, and I am also an enthusiast of music and audio equipment.

I started building ECHO because I sometimes want to open my music and simply listen, but I also enjoy exploring lyrics, artwork, EQ, audio interfaces, ASIO, and different output paths. Many players are either simple with little room to adjust, or powerful but difficult to navigate. I wanted something in between: a player that can stay out of the way during everyday listening, yet gives you meaningful control when you want to go deeper.

Many ECHO features come from problems I encountered while listening. A track should not lose its ending merely because decoding has finished; playback should wait until the audio already buffered by the device has actually been heard. When an output mode changes, the player should also report the mode that is really active instead of making a switch look enabled when the audio path says otherwise.

ECHO is a desktop music player built for local libraries. Import music from your computer and ECHO organizes it into a clear library, making it easy to browse tracks, albums, and artists while displaying artwork and lyrics.

If you simply want to enjoy your music, open ECHO and start listening. Everyday controls such as playlists, shuffle, repeat, lyrics, and shortcuts are easy to use. Dynamic lyrics, music visualizations, and a range of themes add atmosphere as well as sound.

When you want to fine-tune your listening experience, ECHO offers equalization, dynamic compression, soundstage controls, channel adjustments, and headphone crossfeed. You can begin with presets; advanced DSP, ASIO, and exclusive output modes require some familiarity with your audio device, driver, and output path.

ECHO supports audio output through WASAPI and ASIO, working with everyday headphones, desktop speakers, and Hi-Fi equipment. Whether you want an attractive, practical local player or enjoy exploring audio settings in depth, ECHO lets you listen your way.
