Description
The Sun is dead. Humanity survives in eternal darkness. Awaken among the corpses as Nameless, guided by a living heart. Explore a dying world, master forbidden magic, and decide what future humanity deserves.
About
The Sun has been dead for three hundred years.
No one remembers daylight.
No one remembers warmth.
Only survival.
You awaken beneath a mountain of corpses.
You have no name.
No memories.
No idea why you're still alive.
As you struggle free from the dead, something begins to speak.
Not a voice from the darkness...
but the heart beating inside a pile of corpses.
A world trying to survive itself
You remember nothing.
Every step reveals another piece of a civilization that refused to die.
On the surface, humanity no longer fights for victory.
It fights over what it means to remain human.
Three factions struggle to shape mankind's future.
None of them are completely wrong.
None of them are innocent.
Three paths. Three futures…One species.
Join one of them. Or walk alone.
The world has fractured into three powers, each convinced it alone can save humanity.
One believes humanity must remain human, no matter the cost.
One believes death is the only path to immortality.
One believes flesh has already reached its limit.
Humanity
The last true humans cling desperately to survival.
They breed, enslave and sacrifice individual freedom in hopes that sheer numbers and evolution will someday produce people capable of surviving this world.
Cruel...
but perhaps necessary.
The Umbral Lifebringers
Necromancers believe death is only another stage of life.
They preserve humans as intelligent undead capable of surviving for centuries, waiting for the day magic can restore them completely.
To them, the living are not enemies.
They are humanity's future.
Ironborn Consortium
Syntharites believe flesh has reached its limits.
Some seek to improve humanity through technology, replacing damaged bodies with mechanical ones.
Others believe humanity must go further — abandoning flesh entirely and embracing the machine itself.

Around 150 locations await exploration.

• Morally gray decisions with no obvious "good" ending.
Note from the Developer
Under the Dead Sun is a personal independent project of a one man with a very limited budget and time, but with the idea. The world is designed to contain a large number of locations, characters, creatures and stories. Producing every visual and audio asset entirely by hand would take resources and time far beyond the scope of a one-person project.
Because of this, AI-assisted tools are used extensively during production, particularly for visual assets and music. The game's world, lore, story, quests, locations and overall direction are created by the developer, while AI is used as one of the tools that helps turn that vision into a playable game.
I believe in being transparent about this process. AI is not presented here as a replacement for creativity, but as a tool that allows a small independent project to attempt a scale that would otherwise be impossible.
