Description
Darrell 3D is an autonomous first-person dungeon crawler where you play as the spectator: gear Darrell up, choose his patches and loadout, send him back down, rescue dogs, witness bizarre FMVs, DMs, and events, and watch him fight his way through the dungeon to break free from his prison.

DARRELL IS TRAPPED
Somewhere under a dead BBS, Darrell is having a very bad time. You’re on the other side of the screen.
Watch his back. Get him out.
DARRELL FIGHTS
Darrell does the fighting. He punches, blocks, rages, gets hit, gets back up, and occasionally turns something into a problem that no longer exists.
You don’t control every swing. You build the guy throwing them.
GEAR HIM UP
Buy gear, install patches, and change his loadout. Build for damage, health, defense, rage, money, survival, or some deeply stupid combination of all of them.
You have limited slots. Make them count.
SEND HIM DOWN
Darrell handles the dungeon on his own. He walks, fights, and keeps going until something stops him.
Your job is everything before and after. Make the build, send him down, and see what happens.
WATCH HIM DIE
He will. A lot.
Bring him back stronger, change the build, and send him again. The dungeon keeps getting worse. Darrell keeps going anyway.
BUILD YOUR PACK
There are dogs down there.
Obviously you rescue them.
Build your pack and bring them along while Darrell continues doing whatever the hell this is.
TAKE A BREAK
Darrell doesn’t need you staring at him every second. Open the VCR, load your own videos, and watch something while he keeps fighting in the background.
He has his thing. You have yours.
WAIT, WHAT?
Expect FMVs, DMs, glitches, interruptions, strange events, bad advice, and things that probably should not be happening.
Some of it matters. Some of it doesn’t.
Good luck figuring out which is which.
