About

Facility 09 has completed one hundred and sixteen Night Audits without incident.

Management is confident tonight will be the same.

THE JOB

You're the new Night Auditor. Drive each floor of the structure, compare what you see against the last cycle, and file one of two declarations at the terminal:

  • Report an irregularity.
  • Declare the floor clear.

Get it right, and you move forward. Get it wrong and the night starts over.

Dispatch is on the radio throughout. He's been doing this a while. He'd like you to know that most of what you're about to see is fine, actually, and the parts that aren't have already been documented.

OBSERVE. REMEMBER. REPORT.

BLIND SPOT rewards attention, not reflexes. Irregularities are seeded across the facility at random: A vehicle that wasn't there last cycle, signage pointing somewhere it shouldn't, lighting a few degrees off, a member of staff standing where staff doesn't stand, the list goes on.

Everything you need is in front of you. Whether you noticed it is a separate question.

WHEN THE FACILITY HAS OPINIONS

Some nights, the building takes an active interest. Power fails. Lighting overloads well past anything a safety inspector would sign off on. Environmental conditions become, in Dispatch's words, questionable.

None of this is a reportable irregularity. Dispatch is very clear on that.

FEATURES

  • A fully drivable multi-level parking facility, built to look like a real one
  • Nearly 100 irregularities, randomized every run
  • Fully voiced dispatch with hundreds of lines of situational commentary
  • An adaptive score that tightens as the shift does
  • An in-world audit terminal
  • Facility-wide events that change the rules mid-shift
  • Normal and Hard shifts
  • Full controller support
  • Fragments of something considerably larger than a parking garage

HOW LONG IS IT?

A full audit runs about two hours. Sharper memories will move faster; second-guessers will be down there a while. Because the irregularities are randomized, a second run isn't the same run, and there's more of Dispatch in the facility than you'll hear in one night.

ABOUT

Blind Spot was built by one person: the facility, the driving, the audio, the writing, and every anomaly in it. It's fully localized into eight languages — English, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.

Facility 09 thanks you for your service.

Please don't leave anything unreported!
