Everyone types the same text at the same time. Whoever hits the final full stop first wins. Everyone else will do their best to make sure it isn't you.

The race happens inside the document

No progress bars.
You see your rivals the way you see them in any shared document: as coloured carets crawling through your text. They catch up, overtake, and breathe down your neck.
Nobody passes you as a row on a scoreboard. They pass you as a cursor, right in the sentence you're typing.

The macropad

Every word you type earns coins.
Next to your keyboard sits an office macropad with four keys. Before the match you build your own set of abilities; mid-race, a single press sets one off.
No menus. No target picking.
The hit always lands on the player one place ahead of you. That's why first place is the most dangerous chair in the office.

Office disasters

No magic. Just problems every office worker knows by heart.

• Windows Update — a full-screen progress bar. It does not care that you're on the last paragraph.
• Hydraulic Failure — the cylinder gives way, your rival drops under the desk and pumps the lever back up while you walk past.
• Call from the Boss — handset wedged under an ear, one hand on the keys, half the keystrokes going nowhere.
• Lights Out — the whole floor goes dark, monitors included. You can still type. You just can't see what.
• Plus a short circuit, a coffee spill, a paper jam, a fire alarm — and a colleague quietly draining your piggy bank.

Some abilities get in your rivals' way. Others help you survive theirs. When to spend the coins you earn is up to you.

The documents are the joke

You are not typing filler text.
You're typing complaints about the coworker who microwaved fish in the shared kitchen. Written explanations after the office party. Passive-aggressive emails to the whole department. Memos, reports and the rest of the paperwork of an office slowly losing its mind.
Every match is a new story.

The office is alive

Your rivals sit right across from you in ludicrous outfits — and they are alive: reading with their eyes, glancing at each other, flinching at the shock.
There is no UI on top of the screen. The score is a piggy bank on your desk. The abilities are a macropad. The race is a caret in a document. Everything in the frame is a real object.
