About

Victory Rooms is an online party game for 2 to 8 players. Everyone plays for themselves. You start in a hangar with 14 rooms around you, and you decide which ones to attempt and in what order.

Each room gives points. At the end of the match, the highest total wins.

How a match works

A match lasts 25 minutes by default, and the host can change that.

All 14 rooms are available from the start. Nine are single player, five are one on one. You walk up to a door and enter if the room is free.

A room can only hold one attempt at a time. If someone is inside, the door is closed until they come out.

Once you have attempted a room, it goes on a five minute cooldown for you. You can come back to it afterwards, and only your best score in that room is kept.

Scoreboards on the hangar walls show every player's total in real time.

Betray the others

Nobody is your ally. While a player is inside a room trying to rack up points, you can mess with them from the outside.

Send a malus. Target an occupied room and trigger an effect on whoever's inside: an earthquake that shakes everything, a cloud of smoke across their screen, an inverted view, or tunnel vision that closes in their field of view.

Hand off a bomb. Slip a bomb to a player you cross paths with in the hangar and steal their points.

Plant a trap. Drop a trap on the ground and wait for someone to walk into it.

Voice chat depends on where you are

Voice chat is built into the game and follows the layout of the hangar.

In the hangar, every player hears every other player.

In a two player room, only the two players inside hear each other.

In a single player room, you hear nobody and nobody hears you.

The 14 rooms

Single player:

  • Basketball : three hoops worth 1, 2 and 3 points. The higher the value, the smaller the hoop
  • Archery : score depends on how close you land to the centre of the target
  • Quiz : a series of questions to answer
  • Recall : study a set of images, then answer questions about what you saw
  • Put It Back : objects fall out of a cupboard. Put each one back where it was
  • Sequence : clues placed around the room tell you which order to press the buttons in
  • Colour Tiles : four squares light up in sequence. Repeat it. The sequence gains one step each round and speeds up
  • Hidden Objects : objects are hidden at random spots in a room. Find them all

One on one:

  • The Forger : each player paints over a blank patch on a canvas. Your opponent then sees your canvas among two others and has to spot where you painted. First to identify the other's patch wins
  • Crown Chase : one player wears a crown, the other tries to take it. Whoever holds it when time runs out wins
  • The Dilemma : several rounds of prisoner's dilemma. Each round, you cooperate or betray
  • Falling Floor : both players stand on a grid. Any tile you touch disappears shortly after. First one to fall loses
  • Poisoned Box : each round, you send your opponent a box containing either a coin or a bomb. They can accept it, or send it back, in which case you receive double the contents
  • Sticks : players take turns removing sticks from the table. Whoever takes the last one loses
