About

There is a monster in the bay. His name is Gary.

You are one man in one small boat with one bow. Gary is roughly the size of a district. This

is not a fair fight, and everyone involved knows it — including Gary, who finds the whole

thing a little tedious.

So you do the only sensible thing: you row out, you shoot him until you drown, you file the

paperwork, and you row out again. Every arrow counts. The damage stays. Gary remembers. And

somewhere around your four hundredth drowning, you start to win.

MAN vs. GARY is an idle comedy boss-siege that plays whether you're watching or not —

a hand-illustrated storybook world where failure is the whole point and the sea monster always

dies mid-sentence.

What you're getting into

  • Lose, professionally. Death isn't a fail state — it's a filing. Every drowning paysout, advances the story, and stamps another Maritime Incident Report. The monster's HP neverresets; your worst day still chipped him.
  • A roster of seven things that want you gone. Gary the kraken. Ignatius, who is on fire and knows it. The Deep Sea Lurker, who is so sorry. Kevin & Kevin, a two-headed argument. THE BARONESS, who owns the seabed and resents being involved. THE COMMITTEE, which cannot kill you without a motion. And — after the gym montage — SWOLE GARY.
  • Idle that respects your time. The crew keeps rowing, shooting, and drowning while you're away. Come home to progress, a report, and a monster that's had hours to think about it.
  • Retire the Captain. When the wall is too high, hang up the bow and hand the boat to someone angrier. He inherits the grudge, the statue and every way you have died — plus a permanent damage bonus that stacks with every retirement. Monsters that took you hours start dying in minutes. Retiring isn't starting over. It's a promotion, and there's a certificate.
  • THE DROWNING BOARD. A global leaderboard that ranks the entire world by how many times they have drowned. Aim high.
  • A game that talks back.[/b] Hundreds of lines of deadpan monster commentary, bureaucratic death reports, a Committee that produces one (1) actionable insight, a gentleman gull who would never, and a mandatory tea break observed by both sides.

Built by one person, with care

Every arrow, every drowning, every terrible pun is the work of a solo studio. No microtransactions,

no energy timers, no nonsense — just you, a boat, and a kraken with a grievance.

The monster dies mid-sentence. That is a promise.
