About
Your brother came home from a corporate job in a body bag. The fixer who sent him won't say why. Start there.
GRIDFALL is a neon-noir open-world action-RPG in the classic 16-bit mold: real-time top-down street combat, karma-based advancement, hireable crew who take a cut, a hacking scene with its own geography, and a city that keeps moving whether you're watching or not.
WORK THE STREETS
- The contract loop — eight kinds of work (courier, escort, extraction, data theft, Grid runs, gang strikes, recovery, bodyguard) offered by fixers in bars and scaled to your reputation. Haggle the payout — the odds are on the button, and a critical failure withdraws the offer.
- Deliberate gunfights — every attack is a wind-up you commit to. Reflexes speed the trigger, Willpower steadies the spell, and enemies play by the same rules you do.
- A crew worth paying — hire named operatives out of bars, spend their karma, hand them your spare deck, install their chrome, and take direct control of any of them mid-fight. Hire a jacker and you can work Grid contracts without ever touching a deck yourself.
RUN THE GRID
- Jack in from terminals, comm booths, and locked doors into a fog-covered lattice of gates, hubs, and cores. Nothing on the Grid patrols — the countermeasures are guards at their posts, and the smart way past them is deception, not damage.
- Deceive, slip, or strike: pick your move as the trace probes race you to the exit. Crack corp cores for pay-data, cut site alarms from a relay, and jack out before the trace lands.
CHROME OR MAGIC — CHOOSE
- Cyberware is powerful and permanent, and every implant burns Attunement — the same pool that feeds your Focus and spell power. A full-chrome enforcer casts like a rock. A pure hexweaver bleeds in a gunfight. The build is the choice.
- Attuning to a totem is a skill, not a checkbox: invest in Wolf, Raven, or Serpent, re-attune when the job calls for it, and channel spells through a gauntlet instead of a gun hand.
A CITY THAT KEEPS ITS OWN HOURS
- Five districts strung on a monorail — rust-belt scrapyards, a neon market mile, corporate glass, a lawless fringe, and an island the money keeps quiet. Day and night change who's on the street; rain changes how it shines.
- Shoot a civilian or an Aegis Watch officer and the Heat follows you. Ghouls hold the sewers. Rumors point at work; work points at the story; the story points up.
- A six-chapter revenge arc with an epilogue that closes every door you opened — plus side arcs, a numbers station, and a city full of named faces who remember you.
OUT OF THE MACHINE
- Every sprite, portrait, tile, sound effect, and music loop is generated by code — no stock art, no asset packs. (The one file we didn't write is the UI font — Noto Sans, open-licensed.) The whole city comes out of the machine.
- Partial controller support, four languages (English, Español, Русский, 简体中文), three difficulties, and a full stack of graphics toggles.
