About

Keeper of Books is a standalone bookkeeping and payroll app for anyone who

handles their own accounting — no subscription fees, and no handing your

data over to a cloud you don't control.

It's built from the ground up around Swedish accounting rules and formats:

the BAS chart of accounts, VAT (moms) reporting, SIE import/export, K2

annual report generation, and AGI payroll filing.

What you can do:

- Record bookkeeping vouchers (verifikationer) with filtering and search

- Manage and customize your chart of accounts (BAS and others, including

  forestry accounts)

- Calculate, preview, and export VAT reports

- Import and export SIE files, including multiple fiscal years and

  opening balances

- Produce a K2 annual report (årsredovisning) as a PDF

- Register employees, generate payroll runs, and produce payslips (PDF)

- Track vacation and leave per employee

- Generate and export AGI (employer's contribution declaration) filings

- Reconcile against Skatteverket (the Swedish Tax Agency)

- Trace every bookkeeping change through an audit log

- Manage multiple books at once — useful for accountants (revisorer)

  handling several clients

All bookkeeping uses exact money handling (no floating-point rounding

errors), and all data is stored locally on your own machine or in a folder

you choose (e.g. OneDrive) — you own your data.

Keeper of Books is standalone software for Windows (macOS support in

progress) and requires no internet connection to use.

Note: this is Swedish-accounting-specific software (BAS chart of accounts,

SIE format, Skatteverket/moms/K2 rules) — the English text above is for

English-speaking users of a Swedish company's books, not a claim of general

international accounting support.
