UNDERSTAR is a 2D mining adventure about making one more descent—and deciding what is worth bringing back.

Beneath a weathered settlement lies a persistent mine of destructible terrain, hidden caves, rare resources, lost stars, ancient Titans, and forgotten machinery. Carve your own routes, make each expedition count, then return to the light with a stronger character and a changed world.

A MINE THAT REMEMBERS

Dig up, down, or sideways through the underground. Your excavated routes persist, so every shaft, shortcut, discovery, and mistake becomes part of the world. Break through stone, magma, and geodes, connect useful paths, and decide when a deeper route is worth the risk.

TITANS BELOW

The mine is not empty. Push through distinct biomes, sealed geodes, expansive cave levels, and buried machinery to uncover colossal Titans and fragments of a much older mystery. Every new depth should make you wonder what is still moving below.

STARS BECOME POWER

Discover lost stars and turn them into lasting progression. Grow constellations, unlock Starlight talents, and improve mining, movement, abilities, and survival. Your discoveries are not just collectibles—they change what the next expedition can reach.

MASTER FLIGHT AND MINING ABILITIES

Flight turns vertical caverns into open routes. Cross gaps, climb shafts, reach isolated passages, and escape danger with a limited reserve of power. Combine Flight with mining abilities such as Quick Slash and Thunder Strike to break stubborn terrain and reach discoveries that ordinary digging cannot.

BUILD TOWARD THE ARC CORE

Start with a pickaxe and work toward the Arc Core, a controllable mining machine built to challenge terrain on a larger scale. Upgrades should change what you can attempt, how efficiently you gather resources, and how long you can safely remain underground.

KNOW WHEN TO TURN BACK

Darkness, available light, storms, earthquakes, cave-ins, shifting debris, and dangerous depth put pressure on every expedition. Prepare at the settlement, make a plan, and decide whether to continue into the unknown or return while you still can.

The standard experience preserves your mine, discoveries, and character progression between expeditions. Optional Hardcore Mode adds permanent death for players who want every additional metre to carry greater weight.

RETURN STRONGER

Sell resources at the settlement, improve your equipment, choose new abilities, prepare at the campfire, and set out again. Each expedition deepens one persistent mine. Each discovery expands what your character can become.
