Walk-Off 199X - Baseball Roguelike Deckbuilder

Walk-Off 199X is a baseball roguelike deckbuilder where every game starts in the bottom of the 9th. I wanted a baseball game that let me play the strategical part of baseball, without too much simulation or reflex tests. I couldn’t find one, so I made it. I threw in retro VHS aesthetics, deckbuilding, player management, wheel spinning, and turn based, low octane card playing action. The world's first on-deck builder!

Features:

• Spin the Pitch Wheel, which decides what happens every time a pitch is thrown!

• Play Match Cards, built with public domain art more than a century old, to alter the course of each match. Make your players take big swings, call their shot, choke up, bunt, charge the mound, and more!

• Train, motivate, and send up to bat your players! You can also assign powerful Nicknames and Traits to them! Don’t you want to see if Daniel “Doohickey” Hicks can get a clutch hit?

• A deep Deckbuilding System that lets you customize your deck for every pitcher you face!

• Uncover a metafictional story involving objects with supernatural powers, alternate dimensions, and colorful characters. Or don’t - you can ignore the story entirely.

You don’t need to! If you know how to read a pie chart and count to three, you can play this version of baseball. I promise it’s easier than you think.

You are either in your Office or At The Bottom Of The 9th.

During your Office time, you manage your players and your deck. You send them to train, have pep talks with them, buy card packs, cut up cards you don’t want any more, smoke cigarettes, buy memorabilia from the history of the game to power your team up, and more. When you’re satisfied, you choose a pitcher to face, and proceed to…

The Bottom Of The 9th. You start down a lot of runs, and this is your last opportunity to score and walk it off. You decide who to send up to bat, and then you can play cards to change what happens. You watch every single pitch, whether your player whiffs on it or sends it into the stands. Once 3 runners are out, it’s game over.

Get 5 walk offs, and you win the run.
