Idle of the Dead is a zombie-apocalypse idle RPG that runs in Windows taskbar. Your squad auto-battles endless zombie hordes while you work, browse, or play something else, and it keeps earning even while you're offline.

LEAD A SQUAD OF SURVIVORS

Command the bat-swinging Outlaw, the sharpshooting Scout and the life-saving Nurse. They attack, dodge, heal and unleash skills automatically, you build the team and the team clears the horde.

A LOT OF CONTENT TO EXPLORE

Four escalating difficulties (Outbreak, Collapse, Extermination, Apocalypse), each with 3 Acts and dozens of stages. A dozen hand-drawn biomes, from ruined suburbs to the burning depths of hell, with elite mini-bosses and a towering boss in every Act.

DEEP PROGRESSION

Eight gear slots on every survivor, plus a skill tree with dozens of talents to build around. Swap heroes and rebuild the squad whenever a run stops working. Reach level 100 and prestige opens, with super-prestige sitting behind it.

LOOT & RARITY

Hunt gear across nine rarities, from common junk all the way up to Patient Zero. Eight stash tabs to fill, sockets and sets to line up, and a perfect roll that never quite shows up.

DDTANK-STYLE FORGE (0 TO +15)

Push your weapons up with gold and stones. Luck stones raise your odds, protection stones hold your level, and from +11 on a failed attempt destroys the item unless a protection stone is riding along.

THE SYNTHESIS TERMINAL

Nine items of the same rarity and category go in, one of the next rarity up comes out. Auto-fill picks them for you, and the same workshop also crafts, recycles, engraves and rerolls what you already own.

ASYNCHRONOUS PVP

Challenge another survivor's build and watch the fight play out. Nobody has to be online. Training pits you against a mirror of your own squad, the Daily Raid gives you three legs and two losses to spend, and the Top 100 tells you where you actually stand.

YOUR LOOT IS REAL STEAM ITEMS

Unique drops become tradable items in your Steam Inventory. The Convoy ships them out of the game, and from there you list them, sell them, or buy what someone else pulled on the Steam Community Market. Gear moves both ways, so the grind has a price tag.
