About

Fly, Yakko, fly

Yakko was a loyal servant turned into a kite and banished to the world of Tako, a grumpy
octopus who rules the sky and would very much like you to stay down.

Hold to fly. Steer to survive. Your string tenses as you pull: release before it snaps,
pull again, and climb an endless, ever-changing sky of birds, squids, festival toys and
shifting winds.

The sky fights back

  • Tako himself blocks the way, tracks your kite, and shoves you down when you touch
him. At certain heights he even sneaks up from behind.
  • Temari streaks tumble from above in quiet skies. Thread a whole streak untouched and
earn a tailwind, a jingle, and an extra life.
  • Updrafts and downdrafts announced by drifting petals. Ride the updrafts idle, and do
not try to out-fly a downdraft: steer, or sink.

Seven lucky gods have your back

Catch daruma power-ups as they drift by: Hotei restores your lives, Bishamonten makes you
invulnerable, Benzaiten turns you invisible, Fukurokuju flies for you, and the string gods
Daikokuten and Ebisu bless your rope. Stash them in the drawer and deploy them when it counts.

Made for the Deck

  • Gyro steering on Steam Deck: lean the Deck and the kite banks with you, like holding
a real string in the wind. Toggle it in Settings.
  • Full controller and keyboard support.
  • Steam leaderboards: race the world in Normal, Time Trial and Flappy.
  • Hand-drawn ukiyo-e skies that change as you climb. Some of them flip the world upside down.
  • Earn gifts every flight and spend them at the Ennichi festival stall on new kites, darumas,
    worlds and game modes.
  • No ads, no tracking, no data collected.

Fly high, Yakko.
