Youyi

Youyi is designed for live voice situations rather than simple offline text translation.

Typical use cases include:

- hearing others clearly but not understanding fast enough to respond

- talking with overseas players without forcing live foreign-language speaking

- typing first and letting the software speak for you

- switching back to your original voice for quick direct replies

- translating incoming voice from a selected app or live source

- combining subtitles, speech relay, routing, and bidirectional workflows in one tool

The current Steam build is designed so players can open the app and start with the built-in translation experience right away.  

For the core Steam experience, no separate third-party service setup is required before getting started.

Important Notes

- Windows only

- Launching the application itself does not require VB-CABLE

- VB-CABLE is only needed after launch for specific audio routing scenarios

- Common examples include:

  - virtual microphone output

  - some bidirectional voice routing workflows

  - some music / audio relay workflows

- Users can still launch the app, enter the main UI, and use the built-in translation experience without installing VB-CABLE first

- SSD storage is strongly recommended for better first-run local warm-up behavior
