Nothing is animated. Everything is solved.

Ninety interactive 3D experiments across mechanics, oscillations, waves, optics, electromagnetism, quantum physics, thermodynamics, fluids, nonlinear dynamics and ecology. Every one of them is an equation being integrated while you watch: change a parameter and the answer changes, because it was never a recording.

A few of the ninety

  • Brownian motion. The heavy tracer has no noise term and no friction term in its equations. It moves only when the molecules you can see on screen strike it — and the measured mean square velocity lands within a few percent of equipartition, with no thermostat anywhere.
  • Tower and earthquake. A shear frame until its storeys yield. At that moment every slab and column is handed to the rigid-body engine carrying its current position and velocity. The collapse is computed, not scripted, and no two are alike.
  • EM wave. Maxwell's equations on a 1024x1024 grid, on the GPU when one is available. Watch a ripple spread from a point source, squeeze through a double slit and interfere.
  • Capacitor lab. Capacitance, charge, stored energy and the force on the plate are integrated from a live finite-difference field — never read off a textbook formula.
  • Magnetic pendulum. The table is painted with the basins of attraction, and the boundary between them is a fractal you can zoom into.
