Humble Abode & Strays

Fixed as of 2026/08/22: The bug has been resolved. The crash issue that occurred when obtaining an item for the first time has been fixed.

"Humble Abode & Strays" is a heartwarming idle game.

On a stormy night, you find yourself in a shabby old room, where you encounter a group of stray cats.

You can do nothing at all — just listen to the rain, rest to the sound of their purrs, and take it easy. Or you can pick up a brush and gently groom their fur. The fur balls you brush off are the cats' way of saying thank you. Use them to make this humble room a little warmer, one step at a time.

Every cat in the game is based on a real stray. Some were lucky enough to be adopted by kind people. Others never got that chance. I drew their stories one by one, crying as I painted. I hope their stories can touch your heart, just a little.

Additionally, placing furniture in the demo will cause a crash. Since I didn't use version control, I can't fix this bug. I was going to take the demo down entirely, but I felt it was important for you to get a feel for the game before playing, so I've kept it up.
