About

Merc Commander is a real-time tactical game inspired by the classic mech command series.

Take command of a team of mercenary mech pilots, deploy them into hostile territory, and complete dangerous contracts for whoever is willing to pay. Salvage enemy machines, recover weapons, repair your squad, and decide how to spend your limited resources between missions.

Merc Commander is built around the ideas that made classic mech tactics games so memorable - commanding a small group of powerful machines, choosing your approach, and watching a battle unfold in real time. At the same time, it aims to smooth out some of the rough edges of games from the era and make the experience more comfortable to play today.

COMMAND YOUR SQUAD

You don't control just one hero. You command a team of mech pilots, each with their own personality, abilities, and role on the battlefield.

Give orders, change targets, use special abilities, call in support, and use the environment to your advantage. When things get too hectic, tactical pause lets you slow the battlefield down and take a moment to plan your next move.

FIGHT SMART

Different weapons work best at different ranges, and enemy mechs will try to do the same. A missile boat may retreat to keep its distance while a close-range brawler pushes forward.

Critical hits can destroy weapons, damage legs, trigger ammunition explosions, or even take out a pilot with a headshot.

And the battlefield itself isn't always safe. Vehicles, buildings, fences, boats, and other objects can be destroyed, sometimes with spectacular results.

BUILD YOUR MERCENARY COMPANY

Every battlefield can be a source of new equipment.

Salvage destroyed enemy mechs, recover their weapons, and add them to your collection. Visit the Mech Market to buy and sell machines, or find suppliers who can provide equipment that you can't get anywhere else.

Repair your damaged machines, rearm your lance, and decide which mechs are worth taking into the next contract.

A CAMPAIGN WITH A CAST

The members of your company aren't just portraits in a menu.

Your pilots have their own personalities and relationships, expressed through mission dialogue and party banter between missions and during downtime. Get to know your crew as they argue, joke, complain, and occasionally try to have a normal conversation in a profession where "normal" usually means getting shot at by a 70-ton war machine.

SCRIPTED MISSIONS

The campaign is built around hand-crafted missions with objectives, events, and unexpected situations, rather than simply sending you onto a map and asking you to destroy everything.

Protect convoys. Rescue people. Capture installations. Hunt dangerous targets. Deal with situations where the obvious solution isn't necessarily the best one.

Merc Commander is a love letter to an era of mech games - rebuilt with modern conveniences, new ideas, and a lot of enthusiasm for giant robots.
