About
One engine. Infinite stories. Your rules.
Story Engine is not a game with a pre-written plot. It is a narrative engine that revolves around you — every choice, every word,
every direction takes the story somewhere completely different.
Pick a world. Pick a companion. Pick a GM persona. Then the story begins.
Walk into a tavern. Start a war. Fall in love. Betray a kingdom. Open a bakery in a quiet village. No dialogue wheels. No invisible
walls. You describe what you do — the AI unfolds what happens next.
Five GM Personas
The GM is the soul of every tabletop campaign. Choose the one that fits your mood:
- Death — Cold. Inevitable. Every choice has a cost, and the bill always comes due.
- Prophet — The world whispers of what's to come. Every scene drips with foreshadowing.
- Gambler — Luck, risk, and unexpected twists. Nothing is guaranteed.
- Mentor — Patient. Guiding. The world teaches you its rules, if you're willing to learn.
- Confidant — Intimate. Character-driven. Every NPC has a heartbeat.
Built for Roleplayers
- Import your own character cards (PNG format supported)
- Companion mode with relationship tracking — guardian, rival, confidant, or something unspoken
- Inventory, quest log, and active party tracking
- Three difficulty levels — from Relaxed to Brutal (not recommended without extensive preparations)
- Progressive world-building — lore entries unlock as the story unfolds
Play free.
No subscription. No hidden fees. cost — roughly $0.14 per hour of play.
Made by a non-programmer. With Claude Code.
The developer had never written a line of code before this project. The entire engine was built through conversations with AI. If that sounds wrong — it probably is.
