This course explores the subject from first principles. First teaching the foundational ideas the field is built upon, and then using these ideas to build and program a simple computer in a series of engaging, hands-on exercises.

The course allows users to build a foundational understanding of computer science from the ground-up. Lessons build upon each other in modular steps, each lesson being a simple extension of the prior. Together, the lessons present topics in a simple, intuitive order, allowing for a seamless introduction to the field.
Each lesson includes:
A storyline. Intended to lay out the need for developments in the field in the form of a problem needing to be solved.
A video lesson. Presenting the relevant information in a concise ~ten-minute video.
Exercises. Employing hands-on problem solving to create a deep understanding.
