Every battle, every expedition, presents a brand new strategic challenge.
The battlefield is divided into a standard grid — ground paths, elevated platforms, and obstacles. These three terrain types define your deployment strategy. Drag and drop Guardian cards to deploy them instantly upon release.
If you fail a run, your in-run progress resets. The permanent out-of-run resource "Source Essence" can be used to unlock new Guardians, defense towers, and the Temple Tech Tree, allowing you to grow stronger with every cycle of challenges.
Guardians are your core combat force. They can be retreated and redeployed, and level up during runs. Gained attribute points from leveling can be allocated to three stats: Strength, Intelligence, and Spirit.
Defense towers are designed based on chess pieces, each with unique passive skills and fixed auras that provide buffs to Guardians within a certain range — attack speed boosts, attack power bonuses, stun infliction, shield sharing, continuous health regeneration... Combining different defense towers with different Guardians delivers entirely distinct gameplay experiences.
