AI Society

AI Society is an civilization simulation game where every character is driven by a local AI model.

Create up to 25 unique characters and define who they are:

•       Set personality traits; how peaceful, hardworking, extroverted, generous, playful, or dominant they are

•       Give them hobbies like fishing, wood carving, or leatherworking

•       Write a freeform description to shape their worldview and backstory

•       Choose their appearance and gender

 

Characters in AI Society are fully autonomous. They will:

•       Find jobs and fill roles in the town's economy based on their personalities

•       Earn and spend money, manage hunger, and seek rest

•       Form relationships, some warm, some tense, based on their traits and interactions

•       Characters can get married and have children to continue their legacy

•       Post thoughts, reactions, and confrontations on their own social media

•       Visit the homes and farms of their neighbors, or gather at the tavern for a drink after work

•       Fight with characters they despise, and if things go badly, die permanently

•       Drop what they're doing to swarm and attack the intruders when the town is getting raided by bandits

When a character dies, they're gone. Their job goes unfilled. Their relationships dissolve. They're remembered in the town cemetery, where others may visit their grave. With a revive token, they can be brought back to life.

Level up your town and rank by going on adventures and reaching milestones in your town

•   Play mini-games, dungeon raids, or town rivals to gain XP for your town

•   Reach milestones in your town, such as defending your first bandit raid, and earn XP

Play mini-games or fight your way through dungeons & town rivals with your characters to gain town XP and win artifacts that gives them special perks

•  Rare, epic, & exclusive legendary drops when you complete a dungeon

•  Win more artifacts for your characters when you beat a mini-game

•  Play 6 different mini-games and 5 tiered dungeons

•  Battle & go on raids with the strongest characters in your civilization

•  When characters die in a dungeon, they die permanently

•  Go into battle with your town's population and fight off the other town rivals

Control the town or the characters with your god powers

•  Put thoughts in character's heads

•  Force a confrontation or an encounter

•  Cause chaos and smite town resources or exile your characters

•  Watch your characters react to your decisions on their social media

•  Heal characters before dungeon raids

•  Pick up characters and drop them where you'd like on the map

AI Society runs entirely on your machine using Ollama. No internet required, no subscriptions/monthly payments, no data sent anywhere. Works with LM Studio. Choose the model that fits your hardware:

•       Llama 3.2 1B - Lightweight, runs on almost anything

•       Llama 3.1 8B - Best character quality and depth (Recommended)

•       Gemma 2 2B - An alternative lightweight option

 

Every conversation, every social media post, every decision your townsfolk make is generated live by the AI model you select.

 

Note:

Linux Users: GPU acceleration works automatically for NVIDIA GPUs.

AMD GPU Users: install ollama via curl -fsSL | sh for GPU support.

Without it, AMD GPUs will run on CPU (slower but functional).
