About the Game
Battle while you work
Lootborne runs in a window small enough to sit next to whatever you are actually doing. With the optional “always on top” setting, your hero keeps fighting and looting on its own, for as long as stamina holds... then rests and goes again. You look over when you decide it’s time to level up or update your gear.
Drop loot and forge items
424 items across six rarities. Start with battered gear and claw your way toward magic rings, cursed blades, ancient tomes, and mythic artifacts that can redefine your run. Gear up not only for power, but for aesthetics too. And when a duplicate drops, throw it into the forge and gamble it upward.
Elements, Perks, and Potions
Arcane, Flame, Frost, Holy, Shadow. Items carry elemental affinities that stack into synergies; 26 Perks change how your character fights, and 25 Potions let you tilt a fight you are losing. Stats can be respecced: an early mistake is not a dead character.
Challenge other players in async PvP
Your build is not limited to PvE. Test it against other players’ builds in asynchronous battles: no lobby, no queue, no waiting. And it does not stop when you close the game, as challenges can resolve even while you're not playing, with the results waiting when you come back.
Climb the global ladder, challenge your Steam friends, and hunt four PvP bosses that drop gear you cannot get anywhere else.
Trade on the Steam Market
We consider this a feature of the game, not a reason to play it.
For this reason, we’ve added some limits and safeguards:
- The Steam Market opens one week after release.
- Rare and Epic items, together with Legendary items dropped in battle, can be traded with other players on the Steam Community Market for Steam Wallet funds.
- Common, Mythic, and Ascended items are account-bound, along with forged Legendary items. These cannot be traded.
- Trading unlocks at level 15 on an account that is at least 7 days old. You can mark up to 25 items as sellable per week, with a maximum of 8 per day.
Fair Play & Ban Policy
A fair, healthy game environment matters to us, and what we learned during the demo shaped how we handle bots and cheaters.
- Anti-cheat is server-side and reviewed by a real person, so no automatic bans from a single flag.
- We never monitor or scan other apps or processes on your PC. Not to detect cheating or for any other reason.
- Sanctions are progressive: we may restrict access to leaderboards, trading, and matchmaking, but we never request a Steam-level (VAC/Game) ban.
- Balance and economy changes are always disclosed in patch notes, never applied silently.
- Think you were flagged by mistake? Appeal anytime at our support email. We acknowledge appeals within 72 hours and resolve them within 14 days (we're still a small indie team after all). If we got it wrong, we fully restore what was affected and compensate you on top of it.
- You can report cheaters on our Discord or via email.
Offline Play & Data Gathering
- PvE is fully playable offline, no connection required, though stamina paces the run either way. Only PvP, trading, and leaderboards require you to be online.
- We collect gameplay data, never personal data, to help us improve the game and spot cheaters. You can opt out anytime in Settings.
