About
Raid, extract, upgrade, and go again, stronger.
Zone Idle is an incremental extraction simulator set in a ruthless world inspired by the extraction genre and book Roadside Picnic. Deploy into the Zone, survive whatever it throws at you, and get out with your haul, or lose everything where you fell. What you bring back funds everything else: better gear, a stronger hideout, deeper automation, and the long road to prestige. Your operative fights and loots on their own, so you run it at your own pace, hands-on or idle.
PREPARATION IS THE COMBAT
Fights resolve on numbers, not twitch. How a firefight goes comes down to your weapon, your armor, your buffs, and the artifacts you carry, every stat you locked in before you deployed. Miss a detail in the loadout and the Zone collects the difference.
So the real combat happens in the menu. Build the kit. Pack the injectors. Read the odds. The winner is not the one who aims better, but the one who prepares their loadout, understands the RNG, and aims for the best statistical advantage.
DEPLOY, SURVIVE, EXTRACT
Every raid is a string of one-off scenarios. Hazardous events surface as you go: firefights, anomalies, wounded stalkers, locked crates, and things worse than any of those. Each one is a decision. Spend the meds or save them. Fight or slip past. Radiation climbs the longer you linger and your health bleeds with it, so every second you spend chasing better loot is a second you might not walk out on.
What you carry out, you keep. Everything rides on a real grid you rotate, stack, and nest into containers, and you will fight for every slot, because the only backpack that counts is the one that makes it home.
HANDS ON, OR HANDS OFF
How much of this you actually do is up to you. When an event hands you the controls, take them: pick the lock, hack the terminal, take the shot, cut the right wire before the timer hits zero. Real minigames with real skill to them.
Or don't. Automation can clear the minigames for you, and CORTEX, your AI core, can make the calls and run whole raids on fuel while you are away. The deeper you progress, the more of the Zone you can put on autopilot. Play every second by hand, idle through all of it, or set the dial anywhere between.
BUILD YOUR EDGE
Survive long enough and the loop opens up:
- Five maps, from the ruined Cordon to the reality-bent Mirage, each with its own loot, hazards, and extraction routes.
- Over 140 items and 100+ events, with more of both arriving regularly.
- A twelve-module hideout to upgrade, turning rubles and salvage into permanent advantages.
- Seven traders to barter with, each unlocking deeper stock as you earn their trust.
- Quests to run, plus artifacts and anomalies to hunt across the Zone.
- Prestige once you've mastered it: reset for permanent boosts and crack open the endgame.
It all runs on a retro terminal: phosphor glow, scan lines, the works. Unlock the Wardrobe to make the interface and your operative your own.
Prepare. Deploy. Extract. Or don't come back at all.
Same tension, with time to think.
