Explore an open world and scavenge and take jobs to earn money you can use to buy weapons and gear. There's no clear path or main quest; you create your own story. As you play, you unlock more gear that you can start out with on your next character.
Gunplay is slow, difficult, and tactical. Cover is essential, and you need to conserve ammo. Enemies are quick to observe you, so you must plan your movement carefully and check corners.
