RigidGems Museum is a collection game where you travel around the world to mine rough stones, cut them into gemstones, collect them, and build your own digital gemstone museum.
The game includes 59 minerals and more than 500 gemstone cuts.
Many of these designs are included with permission from real-world cut designers and rights holders. Even with the same mineral, changing the cut can dramatically alter the way light, color, and brilliance appear.
Once you find a rough stone, you can choose from a wide variety of cuts and shape it into a finished gemstone. With GemCutDesigner, you can go beyond selecting existing cuts and create your own original designs by defining the overall shape and structure yourself.
Some rough stones may also contain fantastical inclusions inspired by flowers, planets, galaxies, and other motifs. Discovering stones with unusual internal features adds another layer to collecting.
Minerals such as ammolite can also display dramatic color changes depending on the viewing angle and direction of light. Your finished gemstones can be placed freely in galleries and displayed using glass cases and other exhibition items to create a museum of your own.
RigidGems Museum is not intended to reproduce professional gemstone grading or gemological analysis.
Instead, it combines real-time gemstone rendering with mining, cutting, collecting, and exhibition-focused gameplay.
There is no competition and no time limit.
Explore for minerals, experiment with different cuts, search for unusual stones, and enjoy your collection at your own pace.
GemCutDesigner allows you to create gemstone cuts even without specialist knowledge of professional gem cutting.
You can define the overall shape and structure, while the system adjusts the geometry to help turn relatively simple input into more complex cut designs. Designs created with GemCutDesigner can be used directly on gemstones in the game.
This system does not generate cuts by learning from existing cut designs. Instead, it constructs them through geometric generation and shape-processing methods.
RigidGems Museum uses a proprietary real-time rendering engine developed specifically for the project.
The engine calculates effects such as internal reflection, refraction, dispersion, and absorption in real time, producing different visual characteristics depending on the mineral and cut.
The game does not require a DXR-capable GPU and can run on GPUs without dedicated RT cores. On compatible hardware, DXR rendering can also be enabled for more advanced real-time ray-traced rendering.
A built-in real-time RT benchmark is also included, allowing you to view rendering information such as FPS, trace/sec, and rays/pixel while the game is running.
