About

Welcome to Spain, the year of their lord 15XX. The Inquisition is terrorizing your city, burning pyres on every corner. You’re a simple bastard, but after a close encounter with a corpse cart and severe head trauma, you receive a vision.

The accursed forgotten gods have named you their prophet. Your divine task is conquest. Build a cult, gather followers, lead the rebellion, and take over the city district by district.

The underground Temple is your home, but also your means to an end. Here, using gridless building, you satisfy the needs of your followers. Place altars, build shrines, set up an accursed library, or go for something else entirely - set the stage, bring in wine, and create the best secret tavern in Spanish Empire.

Your followers will gladly take part in heretical sermons, bone-chilling rituals, and suspicious production. Use them well, and try not to throw TOO MANY of them into the Great Gaping Pit™.

Maintaining a presence in the city is vital for your occult operation. While your followers work and pray in the Temple, your Acolytes sneak through the streets looking for opportunities.

Use your wits and their skills to avoid the Church’s Goons and take part in hundreds of handcrafted events. Preach, steal, fish, spy, and enjoy the absurdity of Renaissance towns.

Lead a cast of crazy yet charismatic individuals, each with their own story, strengths, and weaknesses. Send them into the City to spread delicious mischief, or task them with keeping your Temple in order.

Be careful, though - the more insane you become, the more wicked they may appear to you.

Shop, rob, and strike deals to acquire resources. Then use your forbidden knowledge to craft ritual supplies, weapons for the rebellion, fake relics that bring enormous wealth, and alchemical witchery - sowing chaos throughout the streets.

The age of mad progress is here, and you will become its master.

Keep suspicion under control, balance your sanity, and proclaim divine war against those who believe their god alone deserves the highest throne.

The Pope’s visit is nearing, and it would be terrible news for him to discover a city that is truly free.
