About

Something old lives in the hills of Eldoria. The Void is closing in, monsters roam the fractured wilds, and the land itself responds to every scar you leave on it. Hunt. Harvest. Craft gear from the remains of what tried to kill you. The terrain deforms when you fight — pits become traps, ridgelines become cover, and every mark persists on the shared server until the next cycle.

Hunt what lives here. Wear what you kill.

Riftforged is a multiplayer action RPG built around preparation and consequence. Monsters hit hard and telegraph their attacks; you must read them, reposition, and use the terrain to your advantage or you will die. Carve parts from what you kill and assemble them at the Biomancy Bench to craft gear aligned with the monster that dropped it. Come back stronger. Push into the next tier. Become Forged from the Rift.

The world reacts

Terrain deformation is physics, not a visual effect. Dig a pit and the monster falls in. Collapse a ridgeline and change the shape of the fight. Every player on the server sees the same world you are shaping in real time and it stays changed. The server regenerates some zones, but expect persistent deformations.

The server owns the truth

Every action in RiftForged is resolved on the server. The client renders what the server confirms; nothing more. There are no client-side shortcuts, no local predictions dressed up as facts. What you see is what the server knows. What every other player sees is the same thing, and when your hits resolve know they they are already confirmed.

This means no desyncing, no rubber-banding, no one player's client lying to another's. If terrain deforms, it deforms for everyone at once, because the physics run on the server and the result is sent to every client simultaneously. The world is one thing, not a collection of client predicted outcomes resolved with server rollback.

You can't look up what you haven't earned

In most online games, the entire item database, including every weapon stat, every drop table, every crafting recipe is sitting in the game files on your hard drive. Data miners post it before you've played a single hour. The mystery is gone before it begins.

RiftForged doesn't work that way. The client never receives data it hasn't earned the right to ask for. Weapon tooltips, crafting recipes, monster drop data; none of it exists on your machine until you've done the work that unlocks the right to request it from the server. You can't learn what you don't have prerequisites for.

The world gives up its secrets when you earn them. Not before.

Notes for final edit:

  • Tone-match with the rest of the long description before publishing
  • "The server owns the truth" heading may want to be softened — it's accurate but reads slightly technical; consider "One world, one truth" or similar
