A short absurdist RPG about a goblin who argues with the Dark Mage about freedom. The Mage has put things in order: one truth, one proper way to live, dancing banned. The goblin just wants his people to dance in the mud.
Trolls in the labyrinth ask about the one true method of knowledge, and a wrong answer sends you back. The Mage believes a word and a thing are the same. The goblin believes it's time to go home.
Between acts the goblin lives in a village on an island. Six neighbours all want something from him, and the gnome opens the next portal only when everyone is happy. You come back from each portal at night, so first you sleep at the inn. Heroics in the morning.
A forest, ruins at night, the Crystal Realm full of fairies, a labyrinth where someone turned the lights off, and the Mage's castle. Before the fight you have to burn his bibliography. He won't do it himself. It's his bibliography.
The gnome will gladly explain how the world works. Ten scraps of lore nobody asked you to collect are hidden across the acts, and half of them only show up on a second run. You don't have to read them, the portal opens either way.
