About

Escape the Baby Alarm is a cozy, escape room-inspired puzzle game that explores the chaos and love of becoming a new parent. Built from my (hello, it’s me Julie, the developer!) own experience, the game is a love letter to parenthood. An era defined by love and connection, but also extreme sleep deprivation, questionable hygiene standards, and the superpower of functioning on 2% battery with a baby in one hand and a cold coffee in the other.

Surrealist and Light-Hearted Art

When you’re a sleep-deprived parent, sometimes nothing makes sense. The art style of the game has been carefully chosen to reflect this dream-like state with bright pops of colour and a surrealist, captivating theme. Every scene has been hand-drawn, including characters and motifs that reflect both the daily struggles and the small, absurd joys of parenthood.

Puzzles for the Brainy and the Brain Fog

Test your sense of practicality and your emotional bandwidth with the quirky puzzles in the game. Avoid getting sunscreen on your toothbrush while looking for toothpaste, search for your shoes in the fridge and smash a box of chocolates "accidentally on purpose" in pure exhaustion-fuelled frustration.

Relatable Pains and the Power of Letting Go

Just when you’ve removed the last bits of rice stuck to your socks, you’re met with a new challenge - the endless stream of advice that people (mostly well-intentioned) love to give to new parents. Use logic to untangle these knots, taking only the tips that work for you and do your best not to get overwhelmed. Sometimes the best way forward isn’t to solve anything at all, but rather to let it all be. Put everything down, step back and just breathe.

This is a story about how becoming a parent changes you, and the process of your own rebirth. It’s about letting go of your old identity and slowly finding strength in a new, expanded, slightly more exhausted but also more resilient version of yourself.

The game starts off by asking, “How do I become the person I need to be to handle this?”

But somewhere between the puzzles, the panic, and the mystery of how snacks end up in every pocket you own, you start to realise something simple: you are enough. And you will actually be just fine (even if the baby monitor says otherwise).

Escape the Baby Alarm tells a heartfelt, thought-provoking, and gently chaotic story about the reality of parenthood where pride, worry, love, and exhaustion melt together.
