About
Washout is a single-player, first-person horror game. Trapped in a flooded labyrinth inspired by the Bathroom Maze aesthetic, the player must find a way out while evading an unnatural threat — an anomalous Washing Machine whose behavior defies all logic.
Each playthrough offers a unique experience thanks to procedurally generated levels. With limited visibility, sound becomes your most crucial ally — the acoustic environment is key to navigating and surviving.
To avoid getting lost, the player can leave behind markers — bloody smears on the walls. But every mark comes at a cost, draining health and distorting perception, clouding both vision and judgment. Survival becomes a trade-off between maintaining orientation and preserving sanity.
The game’s visual style draws inspiration from VHS and found footage aesthetics: grain, static, and analog artifacts intensify the atmosphere of unease and disorientation.
