Merchant Miles is a travelling merchant game about buying low, selling high, and figuring out what each town needs before your rivals get there first.

Every morning, check prices, read the latest news, review new laws and decrees, and go over your contracts. You only have so many coins to spend, and your cart can only carry so much, so every purchase is a trade-off.

Prices vary from town to town. A glut of apples might make them dirt cheap in one place, while a shortage elsewhere sends their value soaring. New laws and decrees can reshape the market in response to your actions and events happening across the world. The challenge is working out what those changes mean for your business, and getting the right goods to the right town at the right time.

When you open your stall, customers start arriving. Set your prices, listen to what they’re looking for, and decide whether to accept their offers. Take a safe profit, hold out for a better deal, or push too far and watch the customer walk away.

At the end of the day, review your market report and decide where to go next. Follow a rumour, take on a contract, chase a shortage, or stick with a route that has already proven reliable.

Along the way, you’ll need to manage your coins, limited cargo space, travel costs, and reputation. A bad purchase can take up valuable space for days, losing freshness and becoming harder to sell. A smart trade, on the other hand, can open up an entirely new route.

There’s no single right way to build your business. Play it safe with dependable goods and steady profits, or risk everything on one big opportunity and hope the next town wants exactly what you’re carrying.
