• Any loop that touches either three pegs or six pegs turns green.
• Any loop that touches either four pegs or eight pegs turns purple.
• Any loop that touches either five pegs or seven pegs turns spotted purple.

Replicating the given pattern with as few loops as possible requires strategic placement and overlapping of loops.
