About

Early Access — and not going anywhere

This is the project of my life. It is not finished. There will be missing features and bugs. Quiet periods mean I am working, not that I have left. I will never abandon Blockscape.

Start with nothing. Build an empire.

You are sent to this world to start a new civilization. Explore, gather, craft, and build. Place beds and people move in. Feed them and they work for you.

Blockscape is a voxel world that is not just cubes. Terrain is smooth: mountains, cliffs, caves, rivers, and shorelines you can sculpt. Then everything you pick up — tools, furniture, armor, even creatures — can also be placed as a building block.

Play how you want

  • Survival — Start with almost nothing. Mine, hunt, stay warm, find recipes, and grow a settlement. Hostile creatures will try to stop you.
  • Just Build — Peaceful creative mode. Instant mining, infinite resources, and you cannot die. Sculpt the landscape and build anything.

Worlds

Every seed is different. Choose a landscape:

  • Mesa — High plateaus, coastal cliffs, and eroded shorelines. The current recommended world.
  • Realistic — Softer hills and naturalistic slopes.
  • Wild — Rougher, more chaotic landforms.
  • Flat — An empty plane when you only want to build.

Generated structures include settler homes, caves, and castles. Day and night, weather, snow, fog, and living water are part of the world, not a backdrop.

Build

  • Hundreds of materials and block shapes — slopes, beams, roofs, windows, furniture, and more.
  • Sculpt terrain: raise, lower, level, and smooth. Copy, paste, and fill with the selection tool.
  • Paint materials, set grain direction, and design custom pieces on a building plate.
  • Share models on the Steam Workshop.

Survive and settle

  • Craft tools, weapons, armor, furniture, and machines. Many recipes are found in the world, not given to you.
  • Settlers move into beds you place. Feed them and they craft, plant, harvest, and build.
  • Farm, cook, and hunt. Dress for heat and cold. Dive with a helmet. Map the land once you craft a world map.
  • Fight what lives here: bugs, snakes, worms, golems, ghosts, protectors, and more. Armor and rare metals matter.

Machines and vehicles

  • Electric networks for lights, doors, and other components. Auto-routed cables.
  • Water networks to supply generators and water machines. Auto-routed pipes.
  • Coal generators and wind generators.
  • Vehicles you craft and unlock: a digging drill, a copter, a hang glider, and more.

Play together

Host a world on Steam and build, explore, and fight with friends. Inventories, settlers, vehicles, and the world stay in sync.
