YAARRGH! Battle Island! is a co-op pirate PvE survival crafting roguelite where every day is preparation for the siege to come.

Explore a procedural island, gather raw resources, process them through an expanding crafting tree, build a fortified pirate stronghold, cook supplies, craft equipment, and prepare your crew before night falls.

When darkness arrives, escalating waves of skeletons attack your island.

⚔️ The Core Gameplay Loop

By Day: Gather, Craft & Prepare

Daylight is your opportunity to prepare for the siege ahead.

Explore the island for resources, loot, and buried treasure. Chop trees, mine stone and iron, hunt for materials, gather food, and bring everything back to your growing base.

Raw resources can be processed into increasingly useful crafting materials.

Turn timber into trunks, logs, palings, posts, firewood, boards, and planks. Smelt iron into useful components. Process hides into leather and rope. Work stone into building materials and use specialized workstations to unlock more advanced crafting options.

Every resource you gather can become part of your survival plan.

GATHER, PROCESS, CRAFT

Survival starts with the resources around you - but raw materials are only the beginning.

Chop trees into trunks and logs, then process your timber into palings, posts, firewood, boards and planks. Use specialised workstations such as the Saw Horse and Saw Bench to turn basic resources into increasingly useful construction materials.

Mine and process stone and iron, smelting raw materials into components for stronger equipment and structures.

Hunt and process hides into cured leather, leather strips and rope, unlocking another branch of materials used throughout your camp.

Your crafting tree connects gathering, processing, workstations, and construction together. The better your production chain becomes, the stronger your island can become.

BUILD A FORTRESS BEFORE NIGHTFALL

Turn those materials into a defensive stronghold capable of surviving the skeleton hordes.

Construct palisades, walls, gates, towers, stairs, ramps, platforms and defensive structures, then expand and reinforce your base as each run grows more dangerous.

Build the workstations your crew needs, create stronger construction materials and decide where your limited resources matter most.

Every wall has a purpose when the siege begins.

Use your crafted materials to transform the island into a defensible pirate fortress.

🔨 Survival Crafting

Crafting is at the heart of preparing your island.

Instead of simply collecting materials, your crew processes resources through multiple stages before turning them into useful equipment, structures, food, and defenses.

A tree might become a trunk.

A trunk becomes logs.

Logs can become boards, planks, posts, palings, or firewood.

Those materials can then become walls, towers, gates, shelters, workstations, and other structures that help your crew survive.

Other crafting paths include metalworking, stone processing, leather and rope production, cooking, fortification construction, and shipbuilding.

As your crafting network expands, so do your options for surviving the increasingly dangerous nights.

SURVIVAL TAKES MORE THAN WALLS

Keep your pirate alive as the pressure increases.

Catch fish, prepare ingredients, collect water, and fuel your cooking pot to create fish stew that restores health. Build the infrastructure needed to keep your crew supplied while preparing for the next attack.

Your time during the day is limited. Gather too little, craft the wrong materials, or leave your defenses unfinished and night will expose every weakness.

SURVIVE THE SKELETON SIEGE

When night falls, the island fights back.

Skeleton hordes assault your fortifications in increasingly dangerous waves. Defend breaches, fight enemies directly, man your defenses and keep the stronghold standing until morning.

As the nights progress, expect larger attacks, stronger enemies, and increasingly dangerous siege pressure.

If your defenses fail, the skeletons come for you next.

⛏️ Dig, Mine & Unearth Resources

Not every valuable resource is sitting on the surface.

Explore each island for places to dig and mine, uncovering materials your crew needs to expand its crafting network and strengthen its defenses.

Mine stone and iron for construction and crafting, then process those raw resources into useful materials for stronger structures, equipment, and fortifications.

Digging can also lead to buried treasure and valuable loot, giving your crew another reason to explore beyond the safety of the base.

The challenge is deciding how far you are willing to venture before nightfall.

Do you keep mining for the materials needed to finish another defensive wall? Search for one more buried treasure? Or return to the stronghold before the skeletons arrive?

Every expedition underground or away from camp costs precious daylight—and when the sun goes down, unfinished defenses can become a serious problem.

BUILD AND SURVIVE TOGETHER

Play solo or form a pirate crew with friends.

Divide the work during daylight: one player can gather timber while another processes materials, cooks supplies, or expands the fortifications.

When night comes, regroup and defend together.

Fight skeletons in fast-paced combat, protect key structures, repair damaged defenses, reinforce weak points, revive fallen crewmates, and prevent the enemy from overwhelming your stronghold.

The longer you survive, the more dangerous the attacks become.
